Workshop: Working with Effigies in Sympathetic Magic – For the more advanced magical practitioner.
From the sands of ancient Egypt to seventeenth century Haitian forests and straight into 21st century living-rooms, the use of effigies has been a staple in working sympathetic magic. These figures, representing the subject of a magical spell, known popularly as poppets or Voodoo dolls, are integral to magic from a wide variety of cultures. This workshop will explore some of the history of the practice and create an actual poppet for use in a magical working.

This seminar is an interactive exploration of the NeoPagan and magical/shamanic revival from an anthropological perspective. This seminar is interactive; intelligent and well thought-out input is expected from participants.
